Arizona author, Daniel T. Sanchez, joined the United States Air Force about the same time he met and married the love of his life, Mona. As a young sergeant who is welcomed by bombings in the barracks of Vietnam, Sanchez experienced the mood and the tension of the times of a country involved in war. He served his country in places like Thailand, Spain, Florida, Alaska and Arizona as he is promoted until becoming a Master Sergeant, finally retiring after twenty years of service.
His first book, 39 Years of Blue, takes the reader through a journey where in spite of the war, the distance, and the dangers, family unity, fun and love prevail.
In the early 1970s, author Sanchez began collecting stamps, a pastime he continues to enjoy to this day. His passion about this hobby eventually shaped the idea of writing and publishing Hispanic Heritage and Participation on United States Stamps.
